The Geneseo City Museum was founded by Dr. E. D. Janzen whose love for the Geneseo community resulted in a collection of photographs, artifacts, and over 8,000 Geneseo related slides. Among many interests Dr. Janzen was a minister, ventriloquist, naturopath, chiropractor, and flying saucer enthusiast. The Old Salt Road to Cow Creek on the Santa Fe Trail crossed the northern edge of Geneseo at the headwaters of the Little Arkansas River.
